As you may know, the Arcata Planning Commission is continuing its review of the draft Plan, and has also recently begun reviewing draft language for the (form-based) zoning code that will implement the Plan.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>This process began well over a year ago, and it has been very difficult for most people to stay engaged over the course of so many meetings. But it&#8217;s really important to keep reminding decision-makers that we support the core features of the plan, in order to ensure that the final documents support the kind of dense, walkable, transit-oriented, climate-friendly development that we need.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><strong>I know you&#8217;re likely as busy as I am, so I&#8217;m going to keep my request simple. Every other week or so &#8211; before each Gateway review meeting &#8211; can you send in a brief email to the Planning Commission reiterating your support for housing, for density, and for low-car and car-free design? <\/strong><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Your emails don&#8217;t need to be detailed or unique to be impactful. They don&#8217;t have to take more than 5 minutes to write. Just one or two sentences every few weeks repeating the same themes will make a big difference over time.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><strong>If you&#8217;re willing to do this, please email me at <a href=\"mailto:colin@transportationpriorities.org\">colin@transportationpriorities.org<\/a>, and I will add you to my list.
