Here is an update on letter opportunities. Postcards to Swing States just announced their campaign, and Vote Forward has a new one where we can write to young voters about climate.<\/p>\n

POSTCARDS TO SWING STATES<\/strong><\/p>\n

In just the past two months, more than 5,000 volunteers from 52 states and US territories have signed up to write 1 MILLION postcards to Democratic voters in Virginia, Kentucky and Louisiana! We are part of the last line of defense to protect folks in these states from what Republicans would do if they win complete control of state governments in November.<\/p>\n

Since 2020, we have now sent 42,882,974 postcards to voters \u2014 more than any other organization in the nation. It’s a truly humbling accomplishment. And one that hundreds of thousands of volunteers like you should feel proud of.<\/div>\n

What’s at stake in these three states?<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
In Virginia, we’re focused on 42 competitive state legislative districts. Democrats hold a narrow majority in the state Senate and Republicans hold a narrow majority in the House of Delegates.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
In Kentucky, our postcards will help Democratic Governor Andy Beshear win re-election in November.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
In Louisiana, Democratic Governor Edwards is term limited, but we have a great chance to help make sure Louisiana voters elect a new Democratic governor this fall.<\/div>\n

You’ll need to provide your own postcards and stamps for this program. We recommend progressivepostcards, an online store that sells postcards with several of our designs. After you sign up, we’ll email you a list of voters and instructions, which will include an October mailing date and three short message options.<\/div>\n

We\u2019ve designed these Labs campaigns to focus on these topics because they are critical to young voters nationwide, and because they could be impacted by the election results in Virginia this fall.<\/div>\n

For these letters\u2014just as with every Vote Forward campaign\u2014your \u201cwhy I vote\u201d message should still adhere to our messaging guidelines<\/a>: We ask that you not mention particular candidates or legislation, and instead write a personal message about why these issues are important to you or how they\u2019ve affected your life<\/div>\n

Because these campaigns are a bit different, before you adopt voters from an issue-focused campaign, you\u2019ll be prompted to review a messaging guide tailored to that specific issue.
