The MPA Collaborative Network <\/a>is hosting a virtual Community Forum on Coastal Climate Change<\/a> for Humboldt County on October 25th<\/sup> from 5pm to 7pm online via Zoom and is also hosting a survey on climate change and California’s coast. <\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n

<\/div>\n
The forum will serve as a listening session to gather your perspectives, concerns, and priorities related to climate change impacts along your local coastline. Your valuable input will be used to inform work along the ocean and coast and will be shared directly with decision-makers.<\/div>\n

There is currently a data gap on the human dimensions of climate change impacts on the California coast and its marine protected areas. The California Department of Fish and Wildlife, as well as other agencies and partners, are seeking information about public perceptions in order to shape their priorities when taking coastal climate action. Participation in this forum, as well as in our recently released survey<\/a>, will directly inform these agencies, partners, and decision makers. <\/span><\/div>\n

The MPA Collaborative Network<\/a><\/strong> is a nonprofit with the mission of empowering diverse communities to engage in marine protected area (MPA) stewardship for a healthy ocean. We have 14 collaboratives based on California’s coastal counties. The Collaboratives bring together NGOs, fishers, science and academia, tribal members and representatives, government agencies, community volunteers, and more to collectively steward the coast. The Humboldt Collaborative has over 100 members including approximately 50 affiliations, which are \u00a0listed below. Check out the Humboldt Collaborative webpage. <\/a><\/div>\n
