What our name means<\/strong><\/p>\n

We’re part of a bigger global family known as 350.org. “350” refers to 350 parts per million (ppm), which scientists have identified as the safest upper limit of carbon dioxide (CO2) concentration in the atmosphere. We are now beyond that threshold – \u00a0see current ppm here<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Relationship to 350.org<\/strong><\/p>\n

350 Humboldt operates as an affiliate of 350.org. This means we often synchronize our efforts and actions with them; however, we maintain our independence without any legal or financial connections to the international organization.<\/p>\n

Mission Statement<\/strong><\/p>\n

We promote 350.org<\/b><\/a>\u2018s core mission of keeping fossil fuels in the ground and reducing the amount of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere back down to 350 ppm or lower to ensure a stable and safe climate. Our goal is a just, low-carbon economy. We believe that a global grassroots movement can hold our leaders accountable to the realities of science and the principles of justice, and promote solutions that will ensure a better future for all.<\/p>\n
