We\u2019ll have a quiet banquet room to ourselves.<\/p>\n<p>El Chipotle is on Arcata\u2019s Orange and Red bus routes, and<strong> we can also offer ride assistance\/carpooling<\/strong> for people coming from Eureka\/Fortuna (email Deborah at deborahmdukes@gmail.com), or Pat (nedlud432@gmail.com) to coordinate rides from Manila\/McKinleyville.<strong> Emails should be sent by the day before.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>We\u2019re hoping for a big turnout for the May 16 meeting because we have important things to hear about and decide. We\u2019re pleased to say<strong> our featured speaker will be Natalynne DeLapp<\/strong> of Terra-Gen, the company<strong> seeking to build up to 60 large wind turbines on the ridges west of Scotia.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Terra-Gen\u2019s wind farm would be<strong> the largest renewable energy development in Humboldt<\/strong>. It could displace the CO2 produced by 80,000 cars! This 350-supported event will feature Matthew Marshall of Redwood Coast Energy Authority, Connor McGuigan, the county\u2019s Climate Action Plan developer, and young (and some older) activists from HSU and Arcata and Eureka high schools.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking of Connor McGuigan, in developing a Climate Action Plan <strong>the County is seeking your input. On Monday, May 20, 5:30-7:00 PM<\/strong>, you can share your thoughts on the plan at the Arcata City Council chambers.
