Tuesday we asked if you could write a comment to the California Air Resources Board asking to make California’s climate actions faster and more ambitious. Thank you if you were able to do that. Now the actual hearing will be Thursday June 23. We are asking you to tune in and comment to the Board. Since written comments go to staff not Board members this is our best chance to influence the Board members, some of whom are progressive on climate change.
How can you help? There is plenty we can all do!
- Tune in to the hearings on the phone and make a verbal comment. The meeting agenda and Instructions for participating are here, and a selection of talking points are here. Be sure to associate yourself “with the written comments of 350 Silicon Valley, 350 Humboldt, and many allied groups.” You’ll only have two minutes!
- Submit a written comment here by midnight on Friday, June 24. Use the talking points linked above if you like.
- Sign the Sierra Club’s excellent petition, urging CARB to go faster and farther addressing the crisis we’re in.
The meeting begins at 9am Thursday, and a staff presentation will probably last at least 1.5 hours.
Thank you very much for helping. We think our testimony can make a big difference.
And to top off the day, 350 Humboldt’s General Meeting is at 6pm, also on Thursday.
Here is the Zoom information. Please give the meeting a try if you haven’t yet
