On Saturday, April 27, 2019, with the expert, inspired guidance of Scott Altenhoff – Urban Forestry Management Analyst for the City of Eugene, several members of the 350 Eugene Leadership team participated in planting 18 Giant Sequoia seedlings along Willakenzie Road, just past the fire station and Sheldon High School.   We carried, dug, planted, watered, mulched, listened and learned on a gorgeous day, dedicating all these efforts to a “giant”, humble man – Don Ewing -who served 350 Eugene through his beautiful photography and videography. Don passed away earlier this year. We are grateful to Scott as well as  Carolyn Partridge and Jim Neu for organizing this wonderful event to honor his memory.  Listen to Patty Hine read “Dalliance of the Eagles”-one of Don’s favorite poems – following the tree planting.
