We are no longer holding our monthly meetings at Unitarian Universalist Church due to completing our LCCA working group recommendations document from our 2019 meetings.
We have a meeting scheduled with Lane County staff Dan Hurley who is responsible for a County Climate Action Plan. We are planning to review our recommendations and learn of future ways to engage with the County as it works on its CAP.
We are attending the Lane County Board of Commissioners meetings each month to make our voices heard at public speaking sessions as well. Stay tuned to 350 Eugene’s Calendar section for upcoming County Board of Commissioner meetings that have relevant topics to Climate Action.
We are getting organized and putting pressure on our Lane County Commissioners to get started on a Climate Action Plan for the County. We are working from a list of topics we think the County CAP should cover including:
Energy (transition off FF), Transportation, Waste, Consumption, Land Use, Building/Energy Efficiency, GHG Inventory – plan 2025, 2030, 2050, Forestry/Timber, Agriculture/Food, Carbon Sequestration, Labor/Training, Water, Adaptation/Resiliency, Emergency Preparedness, Biodiversity, Health, Fisheries, Air Quality, State Climate Policy Advocacy, Ballot Initiatives, Education/Outreach to Residents.
Join us and help put your ideas into the priorities for each of these topics!
