Help us push the City of Chicago to adopt an ordinance written by 350 Chicago!
Background:
The ordinance requires the City to immediately freeze any new investments in the top 200 fossil fuel companies* and divest from direct ownership and any commingled funds that include fossil fuel public equities and corporate bonds within 5 years.
Alderman Maria Hadden is the chief sponsor for the ordinance. Some officials are resisting the move, in favor of a policy that does not absolutely commit the City to sell off fossil fuel holdings within our time frame. This is not sufficient to protect Chicago and its future inhabitants!
