Join us May 11th for our monthly jointly hosted by 350 Chicago and Neighbors for Environmental Justice. N4EJ is a McKinley Park-based grassroots group formed last year in response to residents’ concerns regarding the new MAT Asphalt plant there. Specifically, McKinley Park Residents have been worried about particulate matter being released into the air from the plant and trucks carrying asphalt from the plant.  (To learn more, visit n4ej.org.)

At the meeting, 350 Chicago and N4EJ will share respective missions and projects. Afterwards, we will visit the McKinley Park Community Garden (a wetlands and native plant area) and then the asphalt plant. To round out the day, we’ll visit Marz Brewery. It should be a great day with lots of collaboration and opportunity to learn about important local environmental issues. Hope to see you there!

When: Saturday, May 11, 2019 10AM to 12PM. Please note: If the weather is uncooperative, we will move the meeting to 12PM at the Marz Brewery. Please look for an email regarding this on Thursday or Friday next week.

Where: McKinley Park Play Garden at 3518 S. Wolcott (behind the library)

Getting there: If traveling by L, take the Orange Line to 35th Archer.  From there, it’s a ten-minute walk to the play garden.
