Fellow 350 activists,

Join us at the #aseanpowershift 2015 – a three-day youth conference happening very soon in Singapore from 24 – 26 July.

APS aims to build capacity from the ground up – for youth to champion climate action in their country and the region.

You are invited to join activists from 10 ASEAN countries on a common platform:

  • Empower yourself with the critical skills to scale up the climate movement
  • Meet and connect with youth leaders powering movements across 10 ASEAN countries
  • Learn about each other’s climate initiatives and catalyse more ground up action
  • Be equipped for the UNFCCC COP21 in Paris end 2015

There are 2 Tracks in the APS Program. The Policy Track is for Delegates who have completed their national level consultation. During the conference they will work together to create a combined ASEAN Youth Position which will be submitted to the ASEAN Secretariat. In the Knowledge Track, Participants are equipped with the critical skills to run follow-up activities in their respective countries. More about the Program here – bit.ly/APSprogram

We will have a wide range of about 40 speakers from across ASEAN and internationally, representing a diverse mix of NGOs, private and government.

350.org‘s very own Japan Divestment Campaigner Shin Furuno will be speaking at the plenary session ‘Does Divestment work for ASEAN?’.

Also joining us are H.E. A.K.P. Mochtan, Deputy Secretary-General of ASEAN and Dr Vivian Balakrishnan, Singapore’s Minister for the Environment and Water Resources, as well as many other speakers we are privileged to have. Find out who’s in here – bit.ly/APSspeakers.

As we gear up toward the event, youths take to the air in mid-air jumps that showcase our energy in the fight for climate action and also represent the tackling of the ‘air issue’ – as we aim to reduce the amount of CO2 in the atmosphere from its current level of 400 parts per million to below 350 ppm – to ensure climate safety and preserve a liveable planet.event cover collage v2
