Please donate.<\/b><\/p>\n<div style=\"text-align: left;\" align=\"left\"><a class=\"button bg-blue\" href=\"https:\/\/act.350.org\/donate\/the_power_of_a_movement_blast\/\">SUPPORT 350 &gt;<\/a><\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/act.350.org\/donate\/the_power_of_a_movement_blast\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-5096 size-medium aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/350.org.au\/files\/2018\/06\/Thank-you-for-another-year-of-climate-action-EOFY-2-300x300.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/world.350.org\/australia\/files\/2018\/06\/Thank-you-for-another-year-of-climate-action-EOFY-2-300x300.png 300w, https:\/\/world.350.org\/australia\/files\/2018\/06\/Thank-you-for-another-year-of-climate-action-EOFY-2-150x150.png 150w, https:\/\/world.350.org\/australia\/files\/2018\/06\/Thank-you-for-another-year-of-climate-action-EOFY-2-768x768.png 768w, https:\/\/world.350.org\/australia\/files\/2018\/06\/Thank-you-for-another-year-of-climate-action-EOFY-2-400x400.png 400w, https:\/\/world.350.org\/australia\/files\/2018\/06\/Thank-you-for-another-year-of-climate-action-EOFY-2-15x15.png 15w, https:\/\/world.350.org\/australia\/files\/2018\/06\/Thank-you-for-another-year-of-climate-action-EOFY-2.png 800w, https:\/\/world.350.org\/australia\/files\/2018\/06\/Thank-you-for-another-year-of-climate-action-EOFY-2-600x600.png 600w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>We should all be proud to have chalked up some major wins this financial year:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>In working to <b>#StopAdani<\/b>, we helped organise the <b>Big Day of Action<\/b> that saw 20,000 people come together in 60 events nationally sending a clear message to our governments that this coal mine project cannot go ahead;<\/li>\n<li>We helped put enough pressure on the government to ensure the Northern Australian Infrastructure Facility &#8211; or <b>NAIF<\/b> &#8211; couldn\u2019t go ahead with a loan to Adani, that <b>Chinese financing<\/b> wasn\u2019t on tap to the company and that contractors such as <b>Downer EDI<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> walked away from the project;<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Not wanting let federal Labor off the hook, we ensured that the <\/span><b>#StopAdani <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">message was loud and clear during the <\/span><b>Batman by-election<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in Victoria in March;<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">That same month, we helped organise the massive #<\/span><b>Time2Choose <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">rally in Sydney with thousands of people from communities around NSW calling on the state government to prioritise clean water, air and land over coal and gas projects and to repower the state with clean, renewable energy;<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We brought 350 founder and author <\/span><b>Bill McKibben back to Australia<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> for an eight day, 30-event tour that had real cut-through with our public, business and government audiences to Accelerate Climate Action;<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Bill\u2019s story about seeing the ravaging impacts of ocean warming on our Great Barrier Reef appeared in <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.newyorker.com\/news\/daily-comment\/how-justin-trudeau-and-jerry-brown-can-help-save-the-great-barrier-reef\"><b><i>The New Yorker<\/i><\/b> <\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">just after his visit;<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We saw new fossil fuel divestment successes with councils such as <\/span><b>Hobart<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and <\/span><b>Ryde<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \u00a0and <\/span><b>Monash<\/b> <b>University <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">and <\/span><b>UNSW<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> stepping up commitments to renewable energy;<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Dozens of volunteers helped us spell out messages demanding renewable energy with \u00a0<\/span><b>second-hand Australian solar panels before we helped ship them to Vanuatu<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, a country devastated by Cyclone Pam in 2015. Seeing the panels on their way to the islands of Tongoa and Efate to power health clinics and mobile networks and homes was a fantastic outcome;<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As a founding member of the <\/span><b>#HandsOffOurCharities<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> movement 350.org helped harness the power of the charity sector to stand up against proposed legislation that would have crippled our work and right to advocate for the issues we care about.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We <\/span><b>stood strong against an investigation of our organisation <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">by the charitable regulator (ACNC) for organising a peaceful protest against coal and we\u2019ll share our knowledge of that experience with partner organisations across the climate and environment movement;<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">On the global front 350.org has been fighting climate-wrecking projects from all corners of the world including the <\/span><b>Kinder Morgan Trans Mountain <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">and <\/span><b>Line 3 <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">pipelines in North America, the <\/span><b>Lamu coal plant <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">on the beautiful, UNESCO-protected coast of Kenya, <\/span><b>fracking projects in Brazil<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and the <\/span><b>Trans-Adriatic pipeline<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> that will send polluting gas 3,000km from Azerbaijan to Europe.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As part of the 350.org community, you have been part of this year\u2019s campaigns that have made a real difference. And we\u2019re not stopping there! <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In the coming months, we\u2019ll be organising around Australia to be part of #RiseForClimate &#8212; a global movement with thousands of \u00a0local actions around the world that will build to the eventual climax of the Global Climate Action Summit in California in September.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>We hope you will #RiseForClimate with us, and continue working with us throughout the year.
