As Hurricane Sandy approaches, it’s time to make our voices heard. Climate change is unfolding in front of our eyes. Extreme weather is happening in rapid fire. It is time to lay blame at the feet of the fossil fuel industry. Join us at 3pm on lower Church St in front of City Hall in Burlington. TODAY! We know Sandy isn’t a fluke–she comes on the edge of the warmest year on record, the hottest month on record, the worst drought on record, and of course, a year after a storm that already broke a generation’s records. We will need to focus on recovery soon. We will need to batten the hatches, and join our brothers and sisters wherever they need healing. But we also know we need to batten the hatches of the coal plants, fracking wells, tar sands, and mountaintop removal–of all the fossil fuel corporations that are destabilizing our planet’s weather systems. Now is the time to speak truth loudly, and lend a hand with fierce compassion. Please join us and bring your friends! We will have speakers + signs + are planning to take a powerful photo for local and national media. Let’s end the climate silence. Sign up here and please share with your friends.
