From Detroit to Western Washtenaw!

We will be:
  • Organizing to ensure that a climate change denier does not become president.
  • Lobbying to prevent Michigan’s lame duck legislature from eviscerating the state’s solar industry.
  • Coordinating participation in a 350-led march in Washington, DC during the first 100 days of the next administration.
  • Fighting for climate justice both in underserved communities and for displaced workers in the fossil fuel industry.
  • And much more!

Action Item: Public comment on Nestle’s groundwater withdrawal

Nestle wants to double its current groundwater withdrawal from aquifers that feed Lake Michigan, from 250 gallons per minute to 400. They reached an agreement two-and-a-half years ago after a prolonged fight with environmental groups to keep their withdrawal rates to 150 gallons per minute– and now they already want to bump up their siphoning by 167%. Disregarding the environmental impact statement and forcing the Dakota Access Pipeline through is a depressing repeat of a violent history against Indigenous communities. In addition, it demonstrates a renewed (More...)
