We stand with the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe and all water protectors in condemning the actions of the Trump administration and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. Disregarding the environmental impact statement and forcing the Dakota Access Pipeline through is a depressing repeat of a violent history against Indigenous communities. In addition, it demonstrates a renewed commitment to dangerous fossil fuels and the acceleration of climate change.
We applaud the thousands of people who have taken to the streets since the DAPL easement was granted. In addition, we are glad to hear of Seattle’s decision to divest from Wells Fargo, a major funder of DAPL. 350 South East Michigan will continue to stand with our community to resist this new administration. Keep calling your congress members, going to city council meetings, and supporting climate and environmental justice!
