About this event:
Our Cap the Gases work group partners with a statewide coalition with the goal of passing a comprehensive carbon pricing mechanism and cap on greenhouse gasses during Oregon’s current 2017 legislative session. Carbon pricing creates a cost for emitting the pollution that causes climate change. A cap on greenhouse gasses would limit the allowable amount that can be released into the atmosphere each year. Both have the goal of taking action in Oregon to address climate change in a comprehensive way without waiting for federal action.
