Want to grow your local email list and send out newsletters? No problem.
Some websites in the 350 Network will have access to a “email blast” tool that enables people to sign up to receive an email newsletter through your website. Here are a few things to know about this tool:
- Not every local group/website will have this tool turned on by default. If you think you need it, please contact us at [email protected]
- The basic tool has two primary features:
1) Put signup forms in feature blocks, pages, etc.
2) Enable site administrators to send emails to people that sign up through your website.
- When people sign up for a local newsletter, they’ll also get subscribed to global updates from 350.org. As we build local movements around the world, we also want to make sure we’re growing a strong global network that can act together at critical moments. Click here for more information about how data-sharing will work with this tool.
- We ask that local groups using the tool adhere to the following basic guidelines:
– Keep email traffic light — people tend to welcome occasional emails at crucial moments when they can make a difference, but don’t want to be overwhelmed by incoming messages.
– Maintain a high quality of emails — make sure your messages are clear, compelling, and spell-checked.
– Send emails only about opportunities related to 350’s core focus of building a grassroots climate movement.
– Do not send emails that contain content that could be offensive, dangerous, or illegal.
