ACTING LOCALLY IN THE GLOBAL CLIMATE MOVEMENT

We are a local affiliate of 350.org

350.org is building a global grassroots movement to solve the climate crisis. 350 Austin was recently formed to join in that urgent task. We fully embrace 350.org’s commitment to grassroots organizing and mass public actions that are led from the bottom up. Please join us at our upcoming events, including monthly meetings.

Because of the very real threats that the Trump administration poses to the efforts in battling climate change, many are reaching out to www.350.org and 350 Austin to learn what they can do. There is much work to do, so if you want to become a part of our team, take a moment to complete the Volunteer form.

Join in!

Here are some of the areas where you can pitch in.

  • Artful Activism – Art and visual support, including but not limited to signs and banners
  • Behind the Scenes – admin., data entry, website maintenance and other support
  • Communications/Media – web content and support; press releases; social media
  • Community Justice Solutions– learn from community groups who are most vulnerable to the effects of climate change about how 350 Austin can best assist
  • Divestment – encourage institutions to divest; encourage individuals to transfer funds from financial institutions that invest in extraction industries.
  • Event Organization & Outreach – plan big events; assist with welcoming
  • Government Watch – monitor state and local governments
  • Keep It In The Ground – direct action and support for those participating in direct action against extraction projects
Please let us know what you want to do--on this list and beyond.
